From classical to Pop and rock, and now its Samba. Syaz became a part of RDP in January 2009, playing the Surdo.
Playing in a percussion group has been something that he has always wanted to do since he first got a taste of it in Chingay 2002. He started playing the drums when he was 12. Before RDP, he was a member of TerraVakka, a Tribal Dance and Fire troupe, playing the Djembe alongside a few well respectable percussionists and he still does currently. In 2008, his participation in Republic Polytechnic’s Beats Encore opens his pathway to friendship with the members of RDP. And later on, being a member of Bloco Singapura, Singapore’s first largest Bateria, it enhanced that pathway further.
He has been involved in a number of events which includes Chingay Parade, Opening of DXO, launch of Absolut Vodka APEACH, Cinco De Mayo, Safra Army Half Marathon, Singapore Sports Awards and many others with different percussion groups and individuals.
