Yatt fell in love with percussion after a friend of his introduced the Djembe to him a few years back. Since then, he was keen to learn more about the techniques of playing the hand drum after he watched percussion performances on the streets. He finally got to achieve this after joining Republic Polytechnic’s Percussion Ensemble, Beats Encore.
It was there that he met his fellow band mates after a few jamming sessions. He loves interacting with the public, and he loves being a performer. From there on, he gained exposure and developed an interest in Samba after joining Bloco Singapura in their first debut performance at Singapore Night Festival. Besides that, he has performed in many various private gigs and also large events such as ZoukOut, World Wide Festival, Singapore’s Chingay Parade and many others.
